FLORALS, COLORS & THE 1980'S COMEBACK STORY!
High Point, North Carolina – Furnitureland South’s design consultants, merchandisers and buyers spent multiple days touring exquisite showrooms at the Fall 2021 High Point Market in search of the hottest furniture design trends, and we’re excited to share our discoveries with you! Here at the world’s largest furniture store, it is our goal to provide our customers with the finest, on-trend furniture brands at the lowest prices. Whether you’re looking to furnish an entire project or update your space, you are in the right place for those house design considerations.
Recognizing that the past two years have been filled with trials and hardship, we in the furniture industry are dedicated to enhancing the comfortability and unique flair of your living space today. In other words, we are promoting livable luxury for the post-pandemic home – a combination of style and class with an overwhelming amount of comfort, functionality and durability built in.
In a time when cozying up on the couch with takeout, surrounded by your loved ones has become just as (if not more) special than dining in a restaurant and gathering with your friends on your beautifully furnished back porch has become the new “going out,” we are thrilled to bring you furnishings and décor that create an escape from the comfort of your own home.
Fun With Florals
Large, vintage florals are rising in popularity, and we couldn’t be happier about it! Bold floral patterns add color to your living space and bring a lightness to your design that is unmatched. As appealing as they are, it is easy to overdo florals, so be mindful when you are making house design considerations regarding what you want to cover – be it a wall mural, a sofa, accent chairs or rug – and what you want to use as accent components in solid colors.
Color Coordination
Rainbow color schemes are trending, but you can never go wrong with choosing one color and adding it into your living space in subtle – or not so subtle – ways. Specific colors, such as a deep coral, canyon tone is trending, and hues of blue are taking shape across various household items.
While colorful designs are popular, using warm tones with metal accents is a gorgeous technique to use when you are seeking a tranquil space to kick your shoes off and rest. Neutral color schemes captivate the eye with an aura of relaxation, so keep that in mind when you are making house design considerations for your natural escape.
Likewise, boucle fabric in neutral tones is being widely produced by the world’s leading furniture manufacturers, and we can see why. This textured fabric is soft to the touch and makes you want to cuddle up on it at first sight.
Ode to the 1980’s
The style of the 1980’s is making a comeback – complete with the richness of jewel tones, the excitement of geometric patterns and the functionality of curves – so don’t be afraid to go bold in your living space today!
With a wide variety of Fall 2021 trends, one might wonder: would I be crazy to use each of these styles in my home design? The answer is no! This season is all about putting the “fun” in functional within our homes and mixing each of these styles is the perfect way to do so.
